Bio

Susan Rumor is a professional singing, voice and dialect teacher. She coaches Academy Award-winning actors and Grammy-winning recording artists, and works directly with major and independent record labels, record producers and film directors. Susan has a long list of professional clients, but she is also available to work in private sessions with aspiring singers and actors.

Susan holds a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology/Voice Therapy, and received her music education at DePaul University in Chicago, where she studied voice and classical guitar. In addition to her private coaching for singers and actors, Susan currently teaches Acting Technique, Scene Study, and Voice and Dialects at the Aaron Speiser Acting Studio.

Susan's voice and dialect clients include Academy Award-winner best actress Marion Cotillard, David Wenham and Jason Clarke. Her music clients include Eddie Van Halen, Courtney Love, Linda Perry, Erika Christensen, Drake Bell, Jesse Hasek of 10 Years, and Frank Black of The Pixies.

Having more than 20 years of experience singing professionally for recordings, film and television, Susan has been featured in the film "Bugsy" starring Warren Beatty, movies for HBO and Showtime and TV shows, Beverly Hills 90210 and Full House. She sang the national anthem for the Chicago White Sox and recorded with legend Grammy-winning producer, David Kershenbaum.

Susan's voice teaching techniques integrate her many years of experience in performance and studio singing, but she also brings an extensive knowledge of voice physiology to her teaching. She has been a guest lecturer at California State University, Long Beach, and at Los Angeles City College, as well as working as a corporate speech consultant.

An accomplished composer and producer, she has written and produced songs for many singer/songwriters, including Rod Stewart's daughter Ruby Stewart, for Sony/Columbia Records. Susan is presently recording and producing a CD of her original songs in her own fully-equipped digital recording studio.
